Session 1 (1.5 hours)

1) Introduction to robotics

2) Organizational Setup:

  • Curriculum Implementation
  • Finding money

3) Build an VEX-IQ robot (hands on activity)

Session 2 (1.5 hours)

1) Programming the VEX-IQ Robot (Hands on activities)

  • Learning the program
  • Interfacing with the IQ robot
  • Creating programs to perform various tasks

2) Game Challenge – Classroom activities (demonstrations)

  • Autonomous Control – Game Tasks
  • Driver Control – Game Tasks
  • Team Work Challenge

Session 3 (1.5 hours)

1) Introduction to the VEX-EDR Program

2) Setting up an EDR program within your school

3) Build a VEX-EDR robot (Hands on activity)

Session 4 (1.5 hours)

1) Programming the VEX-EDR Robot (Hands on activities)

  • Learning the program
  • Interfacing with the EDR robot
  • Creating programs to perform various tasks

2) Game Challenge – Classroom activities (demonstrations)

  • Autonomous Control – Game Tasks
  • Driver Control – Game Tasks
  • Alliance partner Challenge

 

Please contact Brian Yu (byu@vsb.bc.ca) with a formal invitation if your school/organization would like to host any of the above workshops.

Workshop time can be in the evenings during the week or anytime during the weekend.  Workshop sessions cannot take place during school hours on days when school is in session.
